Despite its misleading name, Green Dragon is indeed a pub & not a Chinese takeaway. In fact, nothing about it resembles a Chinese takeaway.
A dog friendly pub with over 788 reviews on Google averaging 4.4 stars, Green Dragon certainly sets expectations high. Whilst it’s not an independent pub (Wadworth owned), it certainly is one of the most authentic looking pubs we’ve visited on our journey.
A special thanks to Jake for travelling over an hour specifically for this review. As Green Dragon is conveniently just off the motorway it made his travel slightly more bearable than some of the other pubs we’ve visited.
1) How was the booze selection? 🥃

George says: “They don’t have Peroni.”
Chef says: “I was happy to have any of the lagers.”
Jake says: “I don’t know why you ask me this everywhere we go… I always get Coke.”
2) How good were the chips? 🍟

Chef says: “Thicc. Just how I like them.”
Neil says [Shaking with anger]: “Actually thinking about it they’re greasy! Some were undercooked!”
Jake says: “Serviceable. I would rather have Ronald’s yellow chipsticks, though.”
3) Cleanliness of the glasses 🍷

Neil says: “M20s, clean, I like them.”
George says: “I see marks at the top.”
4) How good are the toilets? 💩

Neil says: “Boring… I’m underwhelmed. They also only had two choices of condom.”
5) How were the staff?👩🍳

Neil says: “I just love women that bully me!”
Jake says: “I got sad vibes.”
6) How was the venue? 🏚

Chef says: “A very foresty pub. I like it.”
George says: “Usually pubby has bad connotations; but not here. It’s cosy, authentic & a vibe.”
7) Overall score 🍻

George says: “In terms of a foresty pub I don’t think you can do too much better than Green Dragon. Personally I don’t like food to be too pubby as it makes me think of microwaves & mucky kitchens, but it’s a nice pub to have a pint in. Would I get the food? No. But I would come back to have a pint.”
Chef: “A proper Brexit pub. I like it.”
Neil says: “Mmm just let me think about this… [He proceeded to not think about it]”
Jake says: “I like the fact that there’s a westie’ ass on the pictures.”
Today’s unique fact: The Anne Frank museum is relatively close to a GoKart track.
