Foresters Arms is technically in the little village of Frogham, but its notable neighbour is the town of Fordingbridge. Just down the road from Foresters Arms is “New Forest Campsite”, which tells you how much of a New Forest pub Foresters Arms is (very).
The rustic pub has a Wadworth sign at the front, but is part of The Little Pub Group, who manage 6 pubs across the New Forest (which we hopefully will review in time).
For this review we were one cunt down as Jake unfortunately was still recovering from the disappointment of The Compass Inn.
1) How was the booze selection? π₯

George says: “No Peroni. & my Moretti was flat.”
Chef says: “Not much choice, but the lagers that are here are elite.”
2) How good were the chips? π

George says: “Some chips were more like wedges.”
3) Cleanliness of the glasses π·

Chef says: “I might have to steal this [He slips the pint glass into his pocket]“
4) How good are the toilets? π©

George says: “The decor is patchy but the rustic charm is definitely present.”
5) How were the staff?π©βπ³

Neil says: “The kitchen closing definitely affected the score.”
Chef says: “She had a nice smile.”
6) How was the venue? π

Neil says: “It’s very dark in here. But I think that’s what they’re going for. Very stately. The area is more impressive than the pub.”
George says: “A proper New Forest pub. Quite dingy – or rustic if you prefer – & there’s no signal.”
7) Overall score π»

Chef says: “Very pubby. I feel like it had a lot of potential but didn’t deliver. I have no big complaints. I would stop here again, but not go out my way.”
Neil says: “Disappointed there wasn’t more donkeys. Wouldn’t it be funny if my comment was that there was more donkeys in than out the pub. The pub is alright.”
George says: βWhatever you imagine when you think of “New Forest Pub” is probably what Forester Arms is. It’s a proper pub in the forest with a rather expensive menu.β
Today’s unique fact: Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card.
